Last Day of Swimming Lessons!

Last day of lessons today! Henry passed his test and is able to move on to the next level (swabbies) but we are going to have him just do this level again. He is still in the age range next year and we think he could use a little more practice before having to swim completely under next year. The kids got to go down the big slide when they were all done and I think he liked it!

Someone got goggles! He had been asking for "water glasses" and we had planned on getting them for him after he finished his lessons, but got them early instead. He was super excited to try them out!

Henry went under today (with quite a bit of protest) and lived to tell about it! His teacher just kind of lowered him down and popped him back up and he was just fine.  He is also a super cheater when it comes to picking up the rings off the bottom! I watched him drag it over to the edge today, hop up on the side, and grab it with his foot! Cheater Cheater!!

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming!

Sturgis Falls

We went over to Cedar Falls to their Sturgis Falls celebration again this year. The parade was pretty much a bust because of all the rain.  We stuck it out for a little while, and decided to walk back to the park and hit up the mini donuts instead.  The boys had to pit stop for corn dogs on the way of course.  After we got our donuts, the rain stopped, so we went back to the parade in time to catch the bands going by and sis loved them.



Oh, and their might have been a funnel cake mixed in there somewhere too......


After the park, we made our way back to the car to head home for naps.  Henry got to get up  close to the railroad tracks and thought they were pretty awesome.


 We met up with Uncle Bob and Aunt Anne for supper, Doughy Joey's of course, then took them on a tour of the best Cedar Falls has to offer... Or we just walked around Main Street. We walked across the river to the carnival and Hj and Nb got to ride their first carnival rides! We didn't bring up riding them at all just to see if Henry would ask, and he was all about it. He said he was ready to ride the roller coaster all by himself so we went for it!
